CHICAGO
- June 13, 2001 - Curious Networks, a leading provider of mobile-enablement software today announces the launch of Continuum 2.0, an updated version of the company's high-performing presentation server and multi-channel development platform. Building on Continuum's current success, 2.0 adds support for new devices, messaging capabilities, and enhanced customization tools. Curious Networks will unveil Continuum 2.0 today and speak on the uniqueness of its technology and the success of its software development tools with client ABN AMRO at the DCI Summit on Wireless Computing, in Santa Clara, Calif. |

"Continuum is enabling ABN AMRO to accommodate the communication channels our customers are using now-and those yet to come-without the worry of time intensive future application development," said Matthias Autrata, senior vice president of ABN AMRO Information Technology Services Company Inc. (AAITSC). "Because Continuum 2.0 allows us to tap into the latest wireless technologies, we can provide our bank customers with personalized customer service."

Curious Networks' introduction of Continuum 2.0 comes at a time when companies are trying to sift through the mobile market clutter to find a long-term solution. Continuum has established itself as a leading mobile platform to meet the needs of enterprises. Its unique, user-centric approach focuses on users' interactions with information as opposed to force-fitting content onto small-screen devices. This approach is the only proven solution allowing for a single application development effort to deliver a solution across all devices, current and future. Users of Continuum, including ABN AMRO, are able to leverage the new device support and features offered by 2.0 without any change to their initial applications. |

"We recognize there is trepidation in the mobile marketplace. Continuum has proven its ability to allow customers to deploy mobile solutions today without fear of what may happen in the future," said David Cutler, CEO of Curious Networks. "Continuum 2.0 builds on our founding philosophy to reduce the cost and risk of deploying mobile solutions." |
Michael Disabato, wireless technologies analyst with the Burton Group agrees. "Because Continuum uses one standardized language to develop, deploy and maintain mobile devices across all channels, companies can leverage their current IT investments with the comfort of knowing their applications are flexible enough to support new devices and technologies down the road," Disabato said. |

Continuum 2.0's enhancements, such as added device support, advanced messaging technology and increased customization capabilities take mobile application development to new levels. |
- Added Device Support. Without additional time, cost, or extra coding, the Continuum 2.0 upgrade supports the latest mobile devices, including Windows CE products and additional models of text pagers such as Motorola's Talkabout® Word Message product lines. Version 2.0 also provides companies with greater flexibility for developing voice recognition systems by supporting today's leading voice providers, including Tellme Networks Inc. and VoiceGenie Technologies Inc. In addition to these access channels, Continuum 2.0 continues to support PC browsers, standard and mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs).
- Enhanced Messaging Technology. Continuum 2.0's enhanced messaging system enables new two-way communication and short message system alerts through the latest "push and pull" technologies. Continuum 2.0 also supports multi-modal device interaction, which allows users to simultaneously work with multiple devices, directing content from text to voice and vice versa. For example, data input through a company's voice channel can instantly be re-directed and sent as text to a PDA. In addition, companies can now take advantage of two-way message alerts that allow increased communication between a company and its customers, partners or employees. This text alert system enables companies to send targeted information directly to the user's device, and also allows the end user to respond directly to the source, providing sophisticated short message communication.
- Increased Customization Capabilities. While Curious Networks' MAXML™ technology takes away the hassle of multi-channel development, the new customization features give companies added flexibility in the design of their wireless applications. Continuum 2.0's new features enable developers to customize interface navigation and tailor applications to incorporate branding elements.
