Curious Networks is to provide ABN AMRO bank with their Continuum
solution, providing the bank's U.S. Customers with mobile access to a suite
of financial applications on Internet-enabled devices.
Starting later this month, a pilot group of ABN AMRO mortgage customers
will have access to the first in a series of mobile financial applications
allowing them to interact with mortgage account information, including payment
history, due dates, escrow and tax disbursements. ABN AMRO plans to expand this
service to its more than 1 million mortgage account holders. ABN AMRO anticipates
that providing mobile access to banking information will increase customer
satisfaction and retention while ultimately reducing customer service costs.
Curious Networks' multi-platform publishing system revolves around a
generalised mark-up language, MAXML, based on interaction-oriented development,
which is designed to operate well on multiple Internet devices. The company's
flagship product, Continuum, a high-performance, scalable presentation server and
development platform, allows for the building of applications accessible via PCs,
mobile or standard phones and PDAs. Curious Networks' platform interoperates with
industry standards such as XML, WML, HDML, VoiceXML, and J2ME.
