Curious Networks Introduces Mobile Developer Tool

CHICAGO, Ill. (MBIZ) - Curious Networks has introduced a platform and server allowing developers to reach a wide range of devices with a single set of instructions.
Using the company's language, called multichannel access XML or "MAXML," developers can reach personal computers, Internet-enabled phones, PDAs, pagers, and even interactive television and telematics as they become available.
Curious Networks says MAXML can support all industry standards, including: HTML, XHTML, XML, WAP, HDML WML, Palm PQAs and VoiceXML. The Continuum enterprise solution integrates into backend systems and extends existing applications to a variety of devices. For example, phone users can receive a menu via voice while pager users receive a text menu.
David Cutler, the company CEO, believes they're offering an easy and powerful way to build and serve homegrown applications across multiple devices.
"Templates and style sheets provided by traditional
solutions do not provide the scalability and
breadth customers demand," he said in a statement.
