Curious Outsources Voice Browsing to TellMe
By Randy Scasny
How does a wireless app developer quickly add voice browsing to its
development platform? He outsources it!
Curious Networks, known for its Continuum
multi-channel, wireless development tool, announced today that Tellme Networks, Inc. ,
will run voice development for Continuum on TellMe's voice application network.
Using Tellme's telephony infrastructure and open voiceXML platform, Curious
Networks can now offer customers the ability to build voice apps as an integrated
part of their multi-channel wireless programs.
"To remain competitive in today's increasingly mobile business environment,
companies cannot ignore a multi-channel approach to wireless deployment," says
David Cutler, president and co-founder of Curious Networks. "As voice access
continues to gain popularity with users, voice applications will be an integral
part of an enterprise's mobile solution."
Curious Networks' Continuum, is powered by the company's markup language,
MAXML (multi-channel access XML), that gives developers the ability to write code
for the application once in MAXML and have it accessible on all channels, including
wireless and standard phones, PDAs, text pagers, the Web, and interactive TV. MAXML
is compatible with all industry standards from HTML and WML to XML and VoiceXML.
